Imagenet buys California data firm Analytica to deepen healthcare AI push

Terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2015, Analytica specialises in data engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, data science, visualisation, and data governance.

What's the endgame? The deal adds specialised data and AI expertise to Imagenet's existing healthcare technology, intelligent automation, and operational services. The goal: help payers turn operational data into decisions on performance and outcomes.

Why now? "Healthcare organizations are generating tremendous amounts of operational data, but the real opportunity is turning that data into actionable intelligence," said Greg Carnes, chief executive officer of Imagenet.

What changes for customers? Analytica will keep serving its existing clients — spanning government, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, and education — and delivering its current services. Its capabilities will also feed Imagenet's broader technology and data strategy, with plans to extend them to Imagenet's healthcare clients over time.

Jun Lee, managing director of Analytica Consulting, called the deal "an exciting opportunity to build on what our team has developed over the past decade while expanding the reach and impact of our capabilities."

The signal: The acquisition reflects how healthcare operations firms are racing to bolt on data and AI capabilities as clients push to extract more value from mounting operational data.
