Who's Resodyn? Founded in 1994 by Lawrence Farrar and based in Butte, Montana, Resodyn designs and manufactures ResonantAcoustic Mixing (RAM) systems. Its patented, non-contact technology uses low-frequency acoustic energy to mix materials up to 10x to 100x faster than conventional methods.
Who buys it? Resodyn's blue-chip customers span aerospace and defense, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, additive manufacturing, and battery and energy storage. Its systems are used to produce energetic materials for the US Department of Defense and are installed in over 40 countries.
What's the endgame? Continuim wants to build "the world's premier industrial mixing technology company," using its EDGE value-creation playbook to boost manufacturing capacity and reach new geographies and end markets. Farrar will remain a shareholder and shift from president and chief executive officer to chief technology officer.
Why now? The deal is Continuim's fifth platform acquisition through Fund II and its eleventh since inception. Resodyn becomes its dedicated platform in the industrial mixing and materials-processing sector.

By backing a patent-protected niche leader with a decades-long track record, Continuim is betting that acoustic mixing becomes a standard across advanced manufacturing.
