RelaDyne buys Colombia's OilRed in Latin America push

Who's involved? Founded in 2014, OilRed distributes lubricants, greases, and coolants, plus value-added lubrication programs, to automotive, commercial, and industrial customers across Colombia. Its existing management team will remain in place to run daily operations.

What's the endgame? RelaDyne said OilRed will work with Grupo Lucalza to widen service coverage and pursue further growth in Colombia. "This acquisition provides an outstanding platform for continued growth, combining deep local market knowledge with a talented management team," chief executive officer Eric Royse said.

Grupo Lucalza distributes lubricants, fuels, filters, batteries, and tires. Its footprint now spans Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia.

New faces: RelaDyne has added leadership recently. On August 24, it named Michael Sheehan to lead its inside sales and sales support teams. The signal: Founded in 2010, RelaDyne has grown to more than 190 locations largely through acquisitions. The OilRed deal shows it is exporting that playbook across Latin America, layering local distributors into a widening regional network.
