Videndum's new CEO buys £84K stake a week into the job

A regulatory filing on Tuesday showed he purchased 37,500 shares at 224.1032p each, for a total of £84,038.70.

Why now? Tewes only stepped into the role on 17 August, making the purchase a notable early signal of confidence. He now holds 37,625 shares, including the 125 he owned before his appointment.

What could go wrong? The buy follows a steep slide in Videndum's stock. Shares traded around 2,500p to 2,600p in early January and near 11,000p a year earlier, hit by a string of profit warnings, supply chain disruptions, and tough market conditions.

The signal: A fresh CEO putting personal money in during a downturn is a classic show of faith, aimed at steadying investor nerves. Whether Tewes's brand and distribution background can reverse Videndum's slide is the test that matters.
