WellStack buys DeLorean AI to add predictive layer to health data platform

The Madison, Wisconsin-based company announced the deal on August 25, 2026. Terms were not disclosed.
What does each side do? WellStack runs an agentic healthcare data platform with analytics modules. DeLorean AI evaluates clinical, claims, and operational data to flag emerging risks, predict adverse events, and recommend next actions for clinical and operational teams.
What's the endgame? WellStack wants to become what it calls the "precision intelligence operating system for healthcare." Combining its data foundation with DeLorean's predictive layer creates an end-to-end platform that answers not just "What happened?" but "What will happen next?" and "What should we do about it?"
Why now? Many healthcare organisations have invested heavily in collecting data yet still struggle to spot which patients, processes, or financial risks need urgent attention. "Healthcare is on the cusp of an additional asymmetric evolution," said DeLorean AI chief executive officer Severence MacLaughlin, adding that staying ahead requires "deep integration with a healthcare institution's data lake or the EMR."
What changes for customers? WellStack says clients will move from data aggregation to insight, then to intervention and measurable impact, guided by its AI-enabled interface. It cited case studies showing improved patient adherence, reductions in avoidable utilisation, and revenue optimisation.
What management says: "By combining WellStack's health data platform with DeLorean AI's advanced AI capabilities, we are expanding our ability to serve clients and accelerate product innovation," said WellStack chief executive officer Rich Waller.
The signal: The deal reflects a broader shift in healthcare technology from static data platforms toward intelligent systems that recommend actions, not just report them. As predictive AI matures, vendors are racing to own the full path from raw data to clinical and financial outcomes.
