New fund

Siguler Guff closes $500M fund for India's growth businesses

What's the deal? Siguler Guff & Company has reached the final close of its Global Emerging Markets Growth Opportunities Fund II (GEMGO II), raising $500 million alongside co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts. The capital will back high-growth businesses in India.

Who backed it? The firm attracted commitments from pension funds, family offices, financial institutions, foundations and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

What's the endgame? GEMGO II targets founder- and family-owned companies, with average investments of around $50 million. It focuses on consumer, healthcare, financial services and technology.

The fund is more than twice the $238 million Siguler Guff deployed in India through its previous emerging markets fund.

Why now? India's mid-market continues to draw global private capital, and the fund's final close signals sustained investor conviction in the country's consumption-led growth story.
