What's the endgame? The Calgary-based company's system produces power from intermittent vent sources while achieving 99.9% methane destruction efficiency. It targets the fragmented, low-volume vent sources that are hard to address cost-effectively, giving operators an auditable record of methane destruction.
Why now? The grant flows from Alberta's industry-funded Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) regulation and NGIF's member-funded Industry Grants program, which back early-stage technology through field trials. Both aim to help the natural gas sector meet tightening emissions rules.

The signal: At $159,000, this is a modest, non-dilutive grant — sitting near the bottom of the funding range for deals of its kind. But the model is deliberate: small early-stage capital that de-risks pre-commercial climate technology and moves it toward validation with major energy buyers already lined up as trial partners.
