Agnikul and Skyroot commit Rs 650 crore to Tamil Nadu space hubs
What's the deal? Private launch companies Agnikul Cosmos and Skyroot Aerospace have signed memorandums of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government to invest a combined Rs 650 crore in Thoothukudi. Both will set up integration and testing facilities in the district.
The details: Agnikul Cosmos will invest Rs 400 crore and create 1,500 jobs, building assembly and integration operations for its reusable, liquid-propelled launch vehicles. Skyroot Aerospace will invest Rs 250 crore and create 500 jobs across storage, assembly, integration, and testing.
Why now? The deals were signed at the Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, the first such event held by the C Joseph Vijay-led TVK government.
