What's the endgame? The investment reflects STARK Group's focus on strategically important categories, tiles among them. Group chief executive officer Søren P. Olesen said in a "challenging market environment" it remains important to "invest selectively in capabilities that create value for customers."
He added that the branch strengthens STARK Group's position in a key specialist category while improving availability, expert advice, and logistics for tradespeople.
What about sustainability? The site supports more energy-efficient operations. It features more than 4,000m² of rooftop solar panels powering the building, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and trucks, and electric forklifts. Nuremberg Mayor Dr Nasser Ahmed conducted the official opening.
The signal: Even in a subdued construction market, distributors are betting on modern, energy-efficient branches in growth cities to stay close to customers and defend share in specialist categories.
