Alantra launches Klima Energy Fund II with a €370M target

What's the deal? AlantraDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched Klima Energy Fund II, its second growth-stage vehicle focused on the energy transition, with a target of €370 million and a €500 million hard cap. The vehicle, approved by Spain's securities regulator CNMV, already has several commitments, including €70 million from the European Investment Fund (EIF).

Investment focus. The fund will back established companies with proven technologies and high growth potential across clean-energy generation and storage, energy markets, grid infrastructure, energy efficiency and sustainable transport. It plans tickets of €10 million to €30 million and a portfolio of 12 to 15 companies across Europe and North America. Klima Energy Fund II is intended to qualify as an Article 9 fund under EU sustainability-disclosure rules.

Why now? The launch follows Alantra's first Klima fund, which closed at €210 million after exceeding its initial target by €60 million. Alantra also plans to hold €250 million to €300 million of permanent capital to invest in its own products and support initial closes of its funds.

The signal. The larger target and early institutional commitment point to continued demand for growth capital tied to energy-transition infrastructure, while extending Alantra's multi-asset platform.
