What's the endgame? Telyon originates, acquires, and operates solar, battery storage, and EV charging projects across the US. The facility supports its growth as it scales toward becoming an independent power producer (IPP).

Why now? "As corporates increasingly seek reliable, cost-effective energy solutions to support their operations and sustainability objectives, the need for flexible, solutions-oriented capital to help developers meet that demand has grown significantly," said Charley Poole, head of energy and infrastructure at LMI.

The deal also marks GDEV's move into private credit. It plans to expand into capital solutions for middle-market developers across storage, solar, and other energy infrastructure, targeting transactions of $40–75 million.

Investor notability: LMI invests more than $125 billion of long-term capital globally on behalf of Liberty. Its investment here was led by the energy and infrastructure team within its alternative credit business.

For GDEV, partnering with an investor of LMI's scale carries weight. "Closing a credit transaction alongside a partner of LMI's caliber is a strong validation of our investment thesis," said Benjamin Baker, managing partner of GDEV Management.

The signal: The facility reflects growing institutional appetite for private credit tied to clean energy infrastructure. As corporate demand for sustainable power rises, developers like Telyon increasingly rely on flexible capital to scale — and firms like GDEV are extending beyond equity to meet it.
