Gilbanks lands six-figure debt to open fifth UK workspace in Bristol

The money will launch a 23,500sq ft workspace at the Assembly Bristol development, the company's fifth UK location.
Why now? The deal is a quick re-raise, building on a seven-figure investment FDC made in 2024. That earlier round helped fund a second Manchester site at Gary Neville's St Michael's development and a Birmingham location at Five St Philips.
What's the endgame? Founded by commercial property surveyor Alex Duckett, Gilbanks opened its first office in Leeds in 2018 before expanding to Manchester. It now aims to grow to 12 sites across the UK by 2030.
Duckett, managing director, said the new funding will bring the concept to Bristol "as part of our plan to target key cities throughout the UK." He added that the office landscape has "shifted towards a more service-led, experience-driven model."
Kathryn Light, investment manager at FDC, said: "Flexible workspace is a market we know very well at FDC." She added that Gilbanks has "built a strong niche delivering high-quality flexible workspace to a professional audience."
