TREBEL buys superfan platform Sesh to add artist services across the Americas
What's the deal? TREBEL, the ad-supported app that lets users download and stream licensed music offline for free, has acquired superfan platform Sesh. The deal, announced via LinkedIn on July 30, pairs TREBEL's listener base across the US and Latin America with Sesh's tools for identifying and activating fans for artists. Neither company disclosed financial terms.
What each side brings: TREBEL says its brand-sponsored service reaches millions of listeners across a catalog of more than 100 million tracks from every major label and leading distributor. Sesh's technology "turns a listener into an identified fan in under a minute," pairing that with campaign tooling and a CRM built for artist teams.
Why now? TREBEL said what it lacked until the deal was "a robust artist services side." As co-founder and chief executive officer Pepe del Río put it: "They built the audience. We built the artist layer."
What's the endgame? The combined company wants the audience and the tools to reach it in one place. Sesh lets artists own fan data such as email, location, and date of birth, then reach them through a Member Card saved to a fan's phone wallet.
Sesh was founded by del Río, Iñigo-Hubertus Bunzl Pelayo, María José Guzmán, and Andrés Fajardo. It raised $7 million led by Miura GlobalDealroom has a profile for this one.
