Digital Securities launches third ¥890M 'renga' fund on a Kyoto hotel
What's the deal? Digital SecuritiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and its system subsidiary OwnerShip have started operations of their third public digital securities fund under the "renga" brand. The fund raised a total of ¥890 million from individual investors, backed by a single hotel — Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Karasuma Oike — in Kyoto's Karasuma Oike district.
How it's structured? The fund uses the Kyoto hotel as its investment property, with Joyo BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Nagoya Bank providing a non-recourse loan secured only by assets the borrowing entity holds. Retail investors funded the rest through the digital securities issuance.
What's the endgame? Digital Securities and OwnerShip operate under the vision of making asset management routine through a digital securities marketplace. The renga service lets anyone invest small amounts in products that professional asset managers back.
Why it matters? With this fund, cumulative digital securities issuance on the OwnerShip platform reached ¥40.114 billion. OwnerShip handles issuance, custody, sale, and secondary trading — investor-to-investor deals on the system — entirely digitally.
The signal: The two firms aim to build what they call Japan's first and only "digital securities marketplace" and become the country's top platform operator in the sector. Each new fund adds to a track record meant to prove that tokenised real assets can reach retail investors at scale.
