Lauxera backs Slovenia's GenePlanet as BlackPeak partially exits
What's the deal? Lauxera Capital PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a healthtech investor based in Paris and San Francisco, has become a shareholder in GenePlanet, the Slovenia-founded provider of clinical and preventive genomics solutions. Alongside the deal, growth partner BlackPeak CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → — a backer since 2023 — partially exited its investment. Neither party disclosed financial details.
What's the endgame? With Lauxera's support, GenePlanet plans to expand its genetic testing portfolio into oncology and rare-disease panels. It also aims to push further into Western European and US markets.
Why now? The new capital structure is built to fund what Lauxera called "aggressive organic growth, continued geographic expansion, and further bolt-on acquisitions." GenePlanet is targeting a full liquidity event for early investors within three to five years.
The signal: GenePlanet already operates across more than 50 markets in Europe, Asia, Latin and Central America, and Africa. Bringing in a specialist healthtech backer like Lauxera — while an earlier growth investor cashes out part of its stake — points to a company positioning for scale and, eventually, an exit.
