Marvell to invest $250M in India, double its workforce in three years

What's the deal? Marvell TechnologyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → on July 29, 2026 announced a $250 million investment in India over three years, targeting research and development, engineering talent, and physical infrastructure. The US chip firm plans to double its India workforce over the same period.

What's the endgame? The money funds a new wing at Marvell's Bengaluru office and a scaled-up presence in Hyderabad. Both sites will support chip design for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and data infrastructure.

Marvell runs engineering centres in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad, where teams work on 2-nanometre process nodes, high-speed analog IP, and end-to-end silicon engineering.

Why now? The pledge coincides with Marvell's 20th anniversary in India, which it entered in 2006 with a Bengaluru engineering centre. The country is now the company's second-largest R&D organisation globally.

Navin Bishnoi, vice president and India country manager, called the country a strategic pillar. "India has become a strategic hub of engineering excellence for Marvell, playing a critical role in advancing the infrastructure technologies that power the world's leading hyperscalers and cloud providers," he said.

The signal: Marvell also backs India's wider chip ecosystem through ties with universities, startups, and government bodies. The commitment lands as global chip demand climbs on AI infrastructure buildout — and as India pushes to become a semiconductor design and manufacturing hub.
