VivoPower lands $50M PIPE to build out Norway AI data center
What's the deal? VivoPowerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has secured a $50 million post-IPO convertible round, structured as a private investment in public equity (PIPE). The Nasdaq-listed developer of powered land and data center infrastructure for AI compute announced the deal on July 29, 2026.
Who's backing it? New York-based Blue Sky CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a specialist AI data center investor and the first institutional backer of UK neocloud Nscale, led the round. Arctic Securities acted as sole placement agent, introducing EU, UK, and Nordic infrastructure and real-estate funds and family offices. GCC-based family offices and entities linked to chairman and chief executive officer Kevin Chin also joined on the same terms.
The structure: The PIPE is primarily convertible preference shares with a $7.50 per share conversion price, a 6% annual PIK coupon, and fixed-price warrants priced above market. VivoPower says the shares convert into a fixed number of Class A Ordinary Shares with no variable share overhang.
What's the money for? Net proceeds will fund the operational conversion of VivoPower's Mo i Rana AI data center in Norway and reduce corporate debt.
What's the endgame? VivoPower, a B Corp founded in 2014 and listed since 2016, holds data center and powered land assets across Norway, Finland, and the United Arab Emirates. It aims to be a trusted partner for sovereign nations building domestic AI infrastructure, bridging energy assets and AI ambitions through Power-to-X infrastructure.
Chin said the financing "provides growth capital to accelerate our transition toward powered land and AI data center infrastructure commencing with Mo i Rana in Norway." He added that VivoPower had "broadened our base of long-term oriented institutional investors."
The signal: The raise reflects investor appetite for the physical layer of the AI boom — power and land — rather than the models themselves. By pulling in a Nscale backer and infrastructure funds across multiple regions, VivoPower is positioning powered land as core to how sovereign nations pursue AI compute.
