Fortino Capital backs Operations1 to build Europe's shopfloor software leader

What's the deal? Fortino CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has invested in Operations1, a German maker of AI-powered software for manufacturing workers, in a late-stage round announced in July 2026. The Belgian firm, a buyout investor in European B2B software, is leading the deal. Founders Daniel Grobe, Benjamin Brockmann, and Anian Ziegler stay on board.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2017, Operations1 digitises employee-led production processes end to end — from task planning and knowledge delivery to documentation, live analysis, and incident management. It counts more than 160 industrial customers, including ABBDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Daimler TruckDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Trumpf, Liebherr, and Thyssenkrupp. With Fortino's backing, it now aims for European market leadership.

Why now? The market for shopfloor software is shifting fast. Labour shortages, tighter compliance demands, and the industry-wide move away from paper-based processes are driving demand for scalable digital tools.

By the numbers: Fortino puts the addressable market in Germany alone at around €800 million, with the Europe-wide opportunity several times larger. Operations1's Future Manufacturing Summit 2026 drew over 200 companies.

The signal: Fortino sees a broader trend where, in the words of managing partner Philipp Remy, "AI increasingly takes over the work itself, instead of just supporting people." Its bet is that Operations1 can evolve from a documentation system into a decision and action system for the factory floor — and consolidate a fragmented market into one European champion.
