HLB Private Bank debuts two private market funds with Gaia
What's the deal? HLB Private Bank has launched two private market funds in partnership with Gaia Investment Partners, giving affluent clients access to institutional-grade private equity and credit strategies.
The details: The Global Private Equity Fund-of-Funds II (Total Returns Focused) targets a net internal rate of return (IRR) in the mid-teens, with a portfolio spanning mid-market buyouts, co-investments, secondaries, and growth equity.
The Private Markets Evergreen Income Fund targets a total return of 8% to 10% a year, with a 6% to 8% cash yield. It invests in US and EU senior direct lending, infrastructure credit, real estate credit, and intellectual property royalties under what the bank calls a "robust defensive framework."
What's the endgame? By partnering with Gaia, HLB Private Bank is "moving away from rigid, single-strategy constraints to offer true institutional-grade, multi-sleeve vehicles," said Jeffrey Yap, its managing director and regional head of wealth management.
The signal: HLB Private Bank, the affluent wealth management unit of Hong Leong BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, is broadening retail-adjacent access to private markets — a strategy long reserved for institutions.
