What's the endgame? Founded in 2018 by Thomas Brady and Michael Gribben, Xburo wants to become a leading national specialist in MEPH asset engineering, design, and technical advisory. It serves public healthcare, defence, education, and commercial clients.
The expansion: The investment will extend Xburo's reach across Scotland, London, and other regions, while widening its service offering. Chiltern Capital will take an active role supporting the founders and management team.
Why now? Brady points to rising demand for specialist engineering across the sectors Xburo serves. "There is a significant and growing need for specialist technical advisory and engineering capability throughout Scotland and across the rest of the UK," he said.
Gribben called the backing "a major vote of confidence" in the firm's plans. Andrew Reid, investment director at Chiltern Capital, said it is "committed to the long-term success of Xburo and its ambitious plans to scale the business."
The signal: The deal reflects investor appetite for specialist consultancies serving regulated, resilient sectors such as defence, healthcare, and critical infrastructure — areas with steady public and private demand across the UK built environment.
