What's the endgame? The Campbell family, which owns Pastest, wants to support doctors beyond exam season. "Three of the most stressful areas in doctors' lives are passing exams, getting a job and managing their finances," a spokesperson said. "Our vision is to provide support across all three of these areas."
Why now? Pastest has broadened its activities in recent years, including supporting aspiring medical students through The Medic Life and launching Pastest Labs to help healthcare professionals develop new ideas.
The spokesperson tied the two businesses together: "At first glance, exam prep and financial education might seem like separate worlds but, when you look at the real life of a doctor, they're very closely connected."
What changes? Medics' Money continues its work under Pastest. "Over the last eight years since we founded Medics' Money, we've helped thousands of doctors make better financial decisions," Perkins said. "Joining Pastest allows us to continue that mission and help even more healthcare professionals."
The signal: The deal reflects a move by medical education providers to serve professionals across their whole careers, not just at exam time — bundling training, careers and financial wellbeing into a single offering.
