Bowmark backs SFG20, the UK's building maintenance standard, to fund AI push

What does SFG20 do? Established by BESA in 1990, it provides customisable maintenance guidance through a software platform to facilities managers, building owners, contractors, and consultants. Its database holds more than 1,500 maintenance schedules covering over 14,000 legislation-aligned tasks, and it is used by more than 1,000 industry participants to plan, deliver, and audit asset maintenance.
Why now? SFG20 has been digitising its offering, launching cloud platform Facilities-iQ in 2024 and AI-powered module Mobiliser in 2025. The company is growing revenues at over 30% per year, driven by demand in the UK and internationally.
What's the money for? The partnership will fund further investment in SFG20's data, software, and AI capabilities, new product development, and expansion into adjacent construction segments and international markets.
What's the endgame? "With Bowmark's backing, we can accelerate investment in our platform, content, data and AI capabilities, as well as in our people," said Kirsty Cogan, chief executive officer of SFG20.
