ADM Capital raises $48M for climate-smart land use in Indonesia
What's the deal? ADM Capital has raised $48 million in blended finance for its Asia Climate-Smart Landscape Fund (ACLF), which lends to small and medium-sized enterprises pursuing climate-smart land-use practices in Indonesia. ACLF, ADM Capital's first Indonesia-focused impact fund, provides medium-term senior secured lending to SMEs engaged in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry and aquaculture.
Why blended finance? The structure combines public or philanthropic funds with private capital to reduce risk. That model is common in emerging markets, where lenders often view SME and land-use projects as too risky to back on commercial terms alone.
Why it matters: Capital is flowing toward nature-based and land-use finance in Southeast Asia, a region central to global forestry and biodiversity goals. Channelling money to Indonesian SMEs signals a push to fund climate action at the ground level, where smaller operators have long struggled to access financing.
