JM Test buys Alltite to push its calibration business into the central US

Alltite specialises in hydraulic torque tool calibration, precision measurement, and on-site field service for energy, power generation, manufacturing, and oil and gas customers.

Founder Tom Smith said JM Test is "the right fit to support our employees with strong resources, stability, and opportunities for growth." He will stay on in a business development capacity to help with the transition.

The signal: Founded over 40 years ago, JM Test is using acquisitions to build out an end-to-end metrology network across the US. Folding regional specialists like Alltite into a national platform reflects steady consolidation in the fragmented test and measurement services market.
