Goodvest and Generali France launch Vertessima, a fossil-free euro fund
What's the deal? Goodvest, a responsible investment platform, has added Vertessima to its offering — a new euro fund managed by Generali Vie, part of Generali FranceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The launch expands Goodvest's access to sustainable euro funds through a tie-up with one of Europe's largest insurance groups.
What's inside? Vertessima applies a strict exclusion policy, ruling out the entire fossil fuel chain, including upstream oil and gas and both thermal and metallurgical coal. Classified as Article 8 under the SFDR regulation, it keeps a diversified allocation across equities, corporate and sovereign bonds — with a preference for Green, Climate, and Social Bonds — and Article 8 or 9 diversification funds.
The exclusion policy draws on all of NGO Urgewald's lists, covering both conventional and unconventional fossil fuels.
How does it work? Sold within Goodvest's Goodvie life insurance contract, the fund guarantees capital excluding management fees and offers a minimum guaranteed profit-sharing rate of 3% net for 2026 and 2027, under conditions. Management fees run at 0.75% per year.
What's the endgame? Beyond the Article 8 classification, Goodvest will run its own line-by-line analysis. That includes carbon footprint analysis across scopes 1, 2, and 3 using Carbon4 Finance data, targeting a maximum warming trajectory of 2°C by 2100, plus biodiversity footprint analysis with Carbon4 Finance and CDC Biodiversité.
Goodvest will receive the detailed portfolio composition each half-year, and savers will get annual SFDR Article 8 reporting covering methodology, financed companies, and sector, geographic, and asset-class breakdowns.
Why now? The fund answers savers looking for security amid market uncertainty, according to Goodvest. "The livret A does not allow you to reconcile what we offer with Vertessima: capital guarantee (excluding management fees), return, and environmental commitment," said Joseph ChoueifatyDealroom has a profile for this one. The launch extends a partnership between the two firms that began in 2021. "Together, we continue our ambition to make savings and sustainable finance accessible to the greatest number," said Rémi Bertholon, director of key account savings partnerships at Generali Patrimoine.
The signal: By pairing a mainstream insurer's capital guarantee with a fossil-free mandate, Goodvest is positioning sustainable saving as an alternative to standard low-risk products — a bet that retail investors want returns and climate credentials without giving up security.
