Record's infrastructure fund hits €1.23B as Swiss pension backers double

What's the deal? Record Asset Management (RAM) has raised an additional €160 million from Swiss pension funds for its Infrastructure Equity fund, lifting total commitments to roughly €1.23 billion. RAM is the European arm of London-listed Record Financial Group, which manages $115 billion in assets.

How it works: The fund is a co-investment vehicle run in partnership with APGDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the pension asset manager of Dutch fund ABP. It gives Swiss pension funds access to large-scale infrastructure equity alongside APG's clients, including ABP, one of the world's largest pension funds with about €560 billion under management.

Why now? The number of participating Swiss pension funds has doubled from four at launch to eight. More than one-third of the fund's initial capital is now deployed or committed.

What's the endgame? The fund targets essential infrastructure across Europe and North America. Its portfolio includes TenneT Germany, which owns about half the country's high-voltage grid; Pattern Energy, a North American renewables and transmission platform with roughly 12GW of operating assets; and NorthC, a North-West European data centre operator running 25 facilities.

The bottom line: Chief executive officer Dr Jan Hendrik Witte called the fresh capital "a strong endorsement of both our investment approach and our execution capabilities."

The signal: Institutional money is flowing into infrastructure tied to energy transition and digital demand — grids, renewables, and data centres. Record's growing Swiss base signals steady appetite among long-term investors for assets promising resilient cash flows.
