Ellos Group lists on Nasdaq Stockholm at $156M valuation

What's the deal? Nordic e-commerce group Ellos Holding began trading on Nasdaq Stockholm on July 8, raising roughly $31.5 million in its initial public offering at a valuation of about $156 million.

The details: Shares priced at SEK 60, valuing the company at approximately SEK 1,485 million. The offering comprised 5,000,000 newly issued shares — about 20.2% of the company — with an overallotment option for up to 750,000 more.

Why now? Chief executive officer Hans Ohlsson framed the listing as the payoff from a multi-year turnaround. "Over the past several years, we have undertaken a significant transformation, delivering improved profitability, stronger cash flow and a more robust capital structure," he said.

Who's backing it? The offering was oversubscribed several times. Cornerstone investors — including Martin Bjäringer, Carl Rosvall, Heimdal Førvaltning, SissenerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Storm Bond Fund, and Tinden Holding — acquired shares totalling roughly SEK 203 million, leaving them with 13.3% of the company if the overallotment is exercised in full.

What's the endgame? Ellos runs online stores Ellos, Jotex, and Homeroom, targeting midlife women across the Nordics with nearly 3 million customers. Chair Morten Eivindssøn Astrup pointed to further gains "especially within AI" to streamline operations and improve the customer experience.

What could go wrong? The company listed below an earlier bid. "We are entering the stock market with shareholders who declined an indicative offer for the company at a price nearly 30 percent above the listing price," Astrup said, adding: "Our task now is to prove that this was a wise decision."

The signal: A profitable, cash-generative retailer testing public markets at a modest valuation is a measured bet — one that positions Ellos to fund brand growth while leaning on its own payment platform, Elpy, and data-driven operations to defend its Nordic lead.
