SOMAREALITY raises $3.35M Series A for eye-tracking cognitive analysis
What's the deal? SOMAREALITYDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Vienna-based deep-tech startup that analyses cognitive processes through eye-tracking data, has closed a $3.35M Series A round led by Catalyst Romania Fund II. Existing investors MT-Lab, RDY Ventures, Moondust VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Gateway VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. The company uses non-invasive, real-time eye-tracking algorithms to measure cognitive load, attention, fatigue, and overall performance. It plans to spend the capital on three fronts: expanding its existing B2B segments, funding longitudinal studies on cognitive health, and launching a B2C product to bring cognitive analysis to consumers worldwide.
Why now? SOMAREALITY more than doubled its revenue in 2025, powered by strategic partnerships with global eye-tracking hardware makers and software distributors across multiple continents. Since launching its first biomarker product in 2024, the startup has generated over €2M in B2B revenue across high-stakes industries including aviation, healthcare, elite sports, and research.
The round also coincides with rising consumer interest in personalised health and a resurgence of wearable eye-tracking technology. "We're bringing our scientific foundation into B2C, giving anyone the ability to understand how their own mind works, beyond the limits of a lab," said co-founder Adrian Brodesser.
The company is currently developing on-chip implementation so its technology can run natively on any smart glasses.
What could go wrong? Cognitive analysis based on eye tracking is still a nascent field. Convincing regulated industries like healthcare and aviation to rely on novel biomarkers requires extensive validation. The planned move into B2C adds a different set of challenges — consumer adoption, pricing, and data privacy among them.
The signal: SOMAREALITY's Series A closed above its initial target, suggesting strong investor conviction in eye-tracking-derived cognitive analysis as a viable commercial category. The startup's rapid revenue growth — more than doubling in 2025 — and traction across aviation, healthcare, and elite sports indicate that high-stakes industries are increasingly willing to adopt novel biomarker tools, even at the early stage. Its push toward on-chip implementation for smart glasses positions it to ride the next wave of wearable computing, where embedded cognitive insight could become a key differentiator.
