AMP IT raises €7M to turn buildings into smart EV charging hubs

What's the deal? AMP IT, a Geneva-based energy and mobility startup, has closed a new funding round that brings its total raised to €7M since its 2021 founding. The capital will fund operational scaling, software development, and expansion into European markets beyond its Swiss home base.

The company develops, finances, installs, and operates smart EV charging infrastructure for residential buildings, commercial real estate, and corporate fleets. Its charging-as-a-service model pairs hardware with a proprietary platform called AMP IT Hub, which handles real-time monitoring, AI-powered charging scheduling, and subscription-based billing.

The round was backed notably by the Swiss Technology Fund, which provides loan guarantees to companies working on greenhouse gas reduction.

Why now? Fuel price volatility is expected to accelerate EV adoption across AMP IT's target markets. The company says it has seen double- to triple-digit annual revenue growth since launch, with a development pipeline exceeding 15,000 charging points.

"With current volatility in fuel prices, we expect EV adoption in our markets to accelerate significantly," said co-founder Ilya Tyuvildin.

What could go wrong? Private EV charging is an increasingly crowded space, and AMP IT will face stiff competition as it moves beyond Switzerland. Expanding into the Nordics and Southern Europe — the company's stated targets — means navigating different regulatory frameworks, energy markets, and customer expectations with relatively modest capital.

The signal: The investment reflects a broader shift in EV infrastructure focus from public fast-charging networks to private, building-integrated solutions. As more drivers charge at home or at work, the real bottleneck is becoming the "last metre" — getting smart chargers into apartment buildings and office car parks where grid management matters most.

AMP IT's bet is that bundling hardware, software, and energy management into a single platform will win over property owners who don't want to piece together separate vendors. If it can prove that model at scale, it positions itself at the intersection of two megatrends: electrified transport and decentralised energy.
