Greentube buys Czech operator Kingsbet CZ to enter fast-growing market

Try Dealroom →, has acquired 100% of Czech online sportsbook and casino operator Kingsbet CZDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The deal gives Greentube its first direct-to-consumer presence in the Czech online gaming market.

The acquisition, announced on May 5, is still subject to regulatory approvals.

Why now? The Czech Republic is one of Europe's fastest-growing regulated gambling markets. According to the Czech Ministry of Finance, the market's total gross gaming revenue hit 68 billion CZK (€2.7B) in 2025, with online gambling accounting for 59.2% of that figure.

Greentube has been expanding steadily across regulated European markets, and the Czech Republic — with its mature regulatory framework and booming online segment — fits that strategy.

"The Czech Republic stands among the most advanced and well-regulated gaming markets in Europe," said Ronald van den Brink, Greentube's chief commercial officer. "By joining forces with Kingsbet, we are gaining a strong local team that will support our expansion."

What could go wrong? The deal still needs regulatory sign-off, which is never guaranteed. Integrating a local operator also carries execution risk — aligning technology platforms, teams, and player experiences across different corporate cultures takes time.

Competition in the Czech online gambling space is intensifying as more international operators eye the market's growth.

The signal: With online gambling already accounting for nearly 60% of the Czech Republic's €2.7 billion gross gaming revenue, the market is a magnet for mature operators seeking regulated growth. Greentube's parent NOVOMATIC — classified as a mature-stage conglomerate — is deploying a buy-over-build playbook, absorbing an early-growth local licensee rather than navigating a lengthy market entry from scratch. The deal underscores a widening gap in European igaming between large incumbents that can acquire their way into new jurisdictions and smaller operators that increasingly become acquisition targets.
