Ascend Asia adds three firms, grows to 2,000+ financial consultants

What's the deal? Ascend Asia Financial Services Group, billed as the first company in Singapore that brings financial advisory firms together, is acquiring three new member firms: Infinity Financial AdvisoryDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, SG AllianceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and PromiseLand Financial Advisory. The acquisitions, made through a wholly owned subsidiary, have received regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and are subject to standard conditions.

With the additions, Ascend Asia's network will comprise four Singapore-based financial advisory firms with a combined force of more than 2,000 financial consultants.

Why now? Ascend Asia chief executive officer Tomas Urbanec called the expansion "a much-anticipated milestone," noting that each incoming firm brings distinct strengths and an established client base. The group says it now has a sizeable advisory network alongside a dedicated asset management firm, giving it the foundations to scale an open-architecture platform across Singapore's advisory industry.

What could go wrong? Integrating three separate firms — each with its own culture, processes, and client relationships — is no small feat. The acquisitions remain subject to regulatory and deal-related conditions, meaning delays or complications are possible. Consolidation in financial advisory also raises questions about whether a larger network can maintain the personalised service that smaller firms are known for.

The signal: Both Infinity Financial Advisory and SG Alliance are classified as early-growth stage companies on Dealroom, underscoring that Ascend Asia is snapping up firms still in their scaling phase — potentially at more favourable valuations — before they mature. The move mirrors a wider consolidation playbook in Asia's financial services sector, where platform players aim to lock in distribution networks early and build scale advantages as regulatory and operational costs climb.
