KNAV secures follow-on investment from Nikhil Kamath-backed NKSquared to fund global expansion

What's the deal? KNAV, an Atlanta-headquartered accounting and advisory firm, has secured a follow-on investment from NKSquaredDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the investment firm backed by Indian entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath. The capital will fund overseas acquisitions — including a push into Australia — along with AI integration and talent development across its global operations.

KNAV operates across seven countries and serves more than 1,500 enterprises, most of them multinationals. It provides assurance, tax, and advisory services.

Why now? Since NKSquared's initial investment in September 2024, KNAV's global revenues have nearly doubled — from $26M in 2023 to $50M in 2025. The firm also expanded into the Netherlands, the UK, and the UAE during that period, suggesting the first round of capital delivered results worth doubling down on.

KNAV said it is in the first phase of an AI deployment programme focused on embedding automation into core business processes. The fresh funding will help accelerate that rollout.

"NKSquared's continued support reinforces our long-term vision of building a truly global accounting and advisory firm," said Nishta Sharma, chief executive officer of KNAV Advisory Inc.

What could go wrong? Acquisition-led growth in professional services is notoriously tricky. Integrating firms across multiple jurisdictions means navigating different regulatory regimes, talent cultures, and client expectations — any of which can slow momentum or erode margins.

AI adoption in accounting is still early-stage, and the payoff from automation investments remains uncertain at scale.

The signal: The deal reflects a broader trend of investor capital flowing into professional services firms that combine global delivery models with technology-driven efficiency. It also underscores growing confidence in India-originated firms competing on the world stage — something Kamath highlighted explicitly.

"Our follow-on investment reflects our conviction in KNAV's leadership, its consistent execution, and its ability to grow with both agility and discipline," Kamath said.
