Korsana emerges with $175M to develop brain shuttle Alzheimer’s therapy

The drug uses “brain shuttles” to cross the blood-brain barrier more efficiently, aiming to clear plaques linked to memory loss.
Korsana says the approach could improve delivery and reduce risks seen with current therapies.
Why now? Approved drugs such as Leqembi and Kisunla have validated amyloid as a target but carry safety risks, including brain bleeding and swelling.

Korsana expects to begin clinical testing later this year.
