DTCP unveils €500m Project Liberty fund to back European defense and security tech
DTCP, a global investment management platform with more than €3 billion in assets under management, has launched Project Liberty , a €500 million venture capital fund dedicated to defense, security, and resilience technologies in Europe. The fund marks DTCP’s eighth vehicle and its first to focus exclusively on the defense and security sector.
Project Liberty follows a Europe-led, NATO-aligned investment strategy, targeting high-performing European defense and dual-use technology companies while retaining the flexibility to invest selectively in NATO member states and close allies where strategically relevant to European security, interoperability, and critical supply chains. The fund plans to back up to 30 companies across Series A to C rounds, with an average investment size of around €20 million.
The launch reflects DTCP’s view that Europe is entering a long-term cycle of defense modernization after decades of underinvestment, driven by heightened geopolitical risks and rapid technological change. The firm already has exposure to the sector through investments in cybersecurity, AI, and defense-related companies such as Quantum Systems, Axonius, Anomali, Arctic Wolf, and Zenity, positioning Project Liberty as an extension of DTCP’s broader technology and infrastructure investment platform.
