AppWorks Closes $165M Fund IV to Expand Pan-Asian Early-Stage Investing

AppWorksDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Taipei-based venture capital firm and accelerator, has closed $165 million for its Fund IV, against a target size of $200 million, bringing the total capital it has raised across its four flagship funds to about $386 million.

The latest fund brings together sovereign, corporate and institutional limited partners from across Asia, reflecting continued regional interest in early-stage technology investment across Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

Over time, it has developed a network of hundreds of founders and startups spanning sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, consumer technology and blockchain.

The new capital will be deployed primarily in early-stage companies in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, with AppWorks continuing its practice of backing accelerator alumni into subsequent funding rounds.

The firm says the larger fund will allow it to increase both the pace and size of its investments, while maintaining a focus on regionally grounded business models.

The close of Fund IV comes as Asian venture capital shifts toward earlier stages, with regional funds playing a larger role in supporting startups amid a more selective global funding environment.
