$7B Today, $26B Tomorrow: Anthropic’s AI Gold Rush Has Just Begun

Anthropic’s annualized revenue run rate is currently approaching $7 billion , up from $5 billion as of August, according to sources familiar with company data. It aims to close 2025 at around $9 billion . These figures show steep acceleration in enterprise uptake of its AI tools, particularly across API-based deployments.

Looking toward 2026, Anthropic has set audacious targets: a base case of $20 billion in annualized revenue, with a “best case” projection stretching to $26 billion . Should those numbers be achieved, they would represent nearly a triple of today’s revenue run rate.

Enterprise clients already account for ~80% of Anthropic’s revenue , with over 300,000 businesses using its AI models in internal tooling and product stacks. Claude Code—its AI for code generation—alone has reached nearly $1 billion in annualized revenue, spotlighting how targeted vertical applications are driving growth.

This rapid expansion positions Anthropic directly alongside OpenAI in the revenue stakes: OpenAI crossed $13 billion in run rate in August. The company’s ability to scale compute infrastructure, improve model efficiency, and expand international and government contracts will be decisive in whether it can hit its 2026 targets.
