Growth Partner: Origin and Foundation

Growth Partner is a UK-based investment firm founded by Richard Harpin, the entrepreneur behind HomeServe, a home repairs and improvements business launched in 1993. HomeServe was created to offer homeowners reliable and affordable plumbing cover through small recurring fees. Over three decades, it scaled into a global operation, serving more than 8.5 million customers across nine international markets, generating £1.5 billion in annual revenue, and achieving over £300 million in EBITDA by the time it was sold to Brookfield in 2023 for £4.1 billion.

The knowledge and operational experience Harpin gained while building HomeServe—from launching B2C and B2B services, managing international expansion, and accessing capital markets—directly informed the creation of Growth Partner. The firm was designed to leverage these learnings to support other founder-led businesses on similar growth trajectories.

Today, Growth Partner applies that experience to minority investments in UK-based consumer businesses. It emphasizes long-term, strategic support over short-term returns and operates without external institutional capital. This independence allows the firm to focus on aligned partnerships with founders, offering both capital and hands-on entrepreneurial insight shaped by HomeServe’s scale journey.
