Vortex Imaging, founded in 2020, is an Israeli-American medical device company developing a novel computational ultrasound system to deliver advanced 3D volumetric imaging at the point of care. This approach is designed to overcome the significant operator dependency and variability of traditional ultrasound, enabling any clinician to perform scans with a reduced learning curve. The resulting images provide advanced 3D visualization without the need for large, centralized imaging infrastructure or ionizing radiation. Vortex Imaging operates with dual headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, and Givatayim, Israel. In May 2026, the company announced it had raised $12 million in a seed funding round from investors including 10D Ventures, Entrée Capital, and Connecticut Innovations. This capital is intended to accelerate development, secure FDA clearance, and prepare for commercial launch. The company's initial clinical focus is on urology and nephrology, with plans to expand into other areas such as OB-GYN and liver imaging.
