Vialytics provides a system for digital road management targeted at cities, municipalities, and local authorities. The company was founded in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2018 by Patrick Glaser, Achim Hoth, and Danilo Jovicic-Albrecht. The founders connected through startup programs with the idea of addressing challenges in road management, particularly in the context of future autonomous driving, which requires well-maintained infrastructure.

The company's core offering is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that digitizes and automates road maintenance workflows. The business model is subscription-based, with pricing tailored to each client based on the total mileage of their road network, the types of roads, and the specific service modules selected. Vialytics serves the GovTech market, helping public administrations manage one of their largest assets—their road networks. Its client base includes over 300 municipalities across Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic, and it has recently expanded into the U.S. market.

The system functions by using a smartphone mounted on the windscreen of a municipal vehicle, such as a street sweeper, to capture images of the road surface every four meters. This data, including GPS tracking, is then analyzed by an artificial intelligence algorithm to automatically detect, classify, and map damages like cracks and potholes. The processed information is presented in a web-based system, providing an objective and up-to-date overview of the entire road network's condition. This data-driven approach allows municipalities to transition from manual, time-consuming inspections to efficient, preventative maintenance planning, optimizing budgets and improving road safety. The platform also includes modules for asset management, such as the automatic detection of traffic signs, and tools for work order management and budget planning.

Since its founding, Vialytics has secured multiple funding rounds, including a seed round in December 2020 and a $10 million Series A in January 2023, led by Scania Growth Capital with participation from existing investors like EnBW New Ventures and Statkraft Ventures. Another round in late 2024 raised €8 million. These investments are fueling international expansion and continued product development, with goals to manage over 400,000 kilometers of roads worldwide by 2030.
