By neutralizing CXCL12, NOX-A12 aims to break down the tumor's protective barrier, making it more susceptible to other treatments like immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Clinical trials are underway to evaluate NOX-A12 in combination with other treatments for aggressive cancers such as pancreatic and brain cancer. Another product, NOX-E36 (emapticap pegol), targets a different chemokine, CCL2, and has been explored for diabetic nephropathy.
