Reken

Reken is a cybersecurity firm positioning itself to counter threats emerging from generative artificial intelligence. Griffiths was the VP of Product at Shape Security. Their collective background involves building large-scale AI platforms to defend against sophisticated cyberattacks for major global companies. This journey includes their time together at Shape Security, a bot defense platform that was acquired by F5 for $1 billion in 2020.

Reken is developing a platform designed to protect against a new wave of AI-driven cybercrime, such as deepfake social engineering, autonomous fraud, and malicious phishing. The company's approach involves a multi-layered defense system that combines zero-trust principles with technological analysis of content. This strategy aims to assess the context and likelihood of malicious AI-generated content to differentiate between benign and adversarial uses of AI. While the specific product details remain in stealth, the company's objective is to address the challenge that merely detecting AI-modified content is becoming insufficient as generative AI tools become more widespread.
