Rallybio is a clinical-stage biotechnology firm targeting the development and commercialization of therapies for severe and rare diseases. FNAIT is a rare condition where a mother's immune system attacks the platelets of her fetus, potentially causing severe bleeding. RLYB212 is designed as a subcutaneous injection for at-risk pregnant women to prevent their immune system from producing these harmful antibodies by clearing fetal platelets from the maternal circulation. Another key clinical-stage program is RLYB116, a small protein inhibitor of complement component 5 (C5). This candidate is being developed to treat various rare diseases driven by complement system dysregulation, where the immune system attacks the body's own cells. By inhibiting C5, RLYB116 aims to reduce inflammation and cell damage. The company is also advancing preclinical programs, including RLYB332 for diseases of iron overload and RLYB114 for certain eye diseases.
