Radar Reticence AB is a Swedish technology startup established in 2022 that develops advanced signal processing solutions for the automotive industry. The company was founded on patented research originating from Halmstad University and Linköping University and is led by CEO Frida Wygler, CTO Emil Nilsson, Chief Scientific Officer Hans Hellsten, and Chairman Leif Haglund. Wygler joined the company through the LEAD Entrepreneurs in Residence program, where she connected with the researchers behind the technology.

The company’s core mission is to solve signal interference problems for automotive radar, a critical issue as the number of radar-equipped vehicles increases. When multiple radar units operate in the same frequency band, it can cause interference that compromises the functionality of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as emergency braking and autonomous driving features. Radar Reticence has developed proprietary algorithms that enable an interference-free environment, allowing a high density of radar sensors to operate reliably and seamlessly in close proximity. This technology is designed to enhance the safety and performance of autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles.

The company targets automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, offering a solution to improve the reliability of their sensor systems. As a participant in the MobilityXlab collaboration platform, Radar Reticence works with industry leaders like Magna, Polestar, and Volvo Group to test and validate its technology in real-world scenarios. The firm has secured pre-seed funding from LiU Invest and has received grants from Vinnova, Sweden's innovation agency, to accelerate commercialization, reduce technical and market risks, and prepare for industrialization.
