Opera Solutions was established in 2004 by Arnab Gupta, a former partner at McKinsey & Company. Gupta's background in consulting highlighted the limitations of traditional approaches to analytics, which motivated him to create a platform-based, scalable solutions company. The firm initially operated as a big data analytics and consulting company, raising significant private equity and debt capital, including an $84 million round in 2011 led by Silver Lake to fuel its expansion. A key milestone was a strategic partnership with Wipro in the mid-201s, which included a $30 million investment to combine Opera's machine learning expertise with Wipro's global delivery model.

The company focuses on providing artificial intelligence and machine learning software solutions to large enterprises in sectors like financial services, healthcare, retail, and telecommunications. Its business model centers on delivering analytics as a service through a subscription-based model. Opera Solutions developed a proprietary, Hadoop-based platform named Vektor, which hosted its Signal Hub technology. This technology was designed to ingest massive, complex data streams from clients and identify predictive patterns, or "Signals," to guide business decisions. The platform offered both custom-built solutions for large organizations and pre-packaged vertical solutions for specific industry needs.

In 2018, after facing financial difficulties and being unable to repay a loan, White Oak Global Advisors, a private equity firm, foreclosed on the assets of Opera Solutions LLC. The company was subsequently rebranded as ElectrifAi. The new leadership, with Edward Scott as CEO, pivoted from a consulting-heavy model to focus on pre-built machine learning software products aimed at solving specific enterprise problems in areas like spend optimization and customer engagement.
