NODAR was founded in 2018 by Dr. Leaf Jiang, who now serves as the company's CEO. Jiang holds a B.S., M.Eng, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, with a specialization in optical ranging systems, which forms the technical foundation of NODAR's technology.

The company develops and sells 3D vision systems for the autonomous vehicle market, targeting automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers. Its core product, Hammerhead™, is a software-based stereo vision system that utilizes two or more standard automotive-grade cameras to generate high-density 3D point clouds. This approach provides long-range, high-resolution depth perception, aiming to enhance the safety and reliability of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and fully autonomous driving platforms.
