For delivery, the company utilizes lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for liver-specific targets and is developing engineered virus-like particles (eVLPs) for tissues outside of the liver. The lead program, CRMA-1001, is a liver-targeted epigenetic editor being developed as a potential functional cure for chronic hepatitis B and D. Preclinical studies have shown that CRMA-1001 can achieve a durable reduction of key viral biomarkers. The company plans to submit a clinical trial application for CRMA-1001 in 2025 and anticipates patient dosing to begin in 2026.
