Established in 2024 as a clean energy initiative by the global floating energy solutions leader Karpowership, Kinetics Energies is dedicated to the energy transition. The company specializes in developing, delivering, and leasing floating LNG assets, such as Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), and renewable energy platforms, including battery energy storage systems (BESS). Its business model is designed to serve utilities, governments, and independent power producers with flexible and rapidly deployable energy infrastructure.

Kinetics leverages the extensive expertise and fleet of its parent company to accelerate the adoption of cleaner energy. A significant milestone in its early operations includes raising $400 million through a bond issuance to support the growth of its FSRU assets. The company is also actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio, with a goal of building 800 MW of diversified assets by 2030, including projects in solar PV, waste-to-power, and geothermal. The firm serves as both an investor and operator, ensuring the integration of clean electricity into national grids.

Furthering its commitment to decarbonization across various sectors, Kinetics has made strategic investments in technology companies. This includes co-investing in a $20 million Series A round for Exterra, a Canadian cleantech firm focused on waste-to-value solutions, and participating in a $20 million Series A round for Power to Hydrogen, a U.S. manufacturer of AEM electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. Additionally, in July 2025, Kinetics signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) to jointly develop the world's first integrated floating data center platform, targeting deployment by 2027.
