The company's core offering is a proprietary Supplier Fulfilled Retailing (SFR®) model, designed to streamline the traditional supply chain for bulky goods. This B2B platform connects manufacturers, primarily in Asia, with resellers and retailers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, integrating product discovery, payment processing, and logistics into a single system. By facilitating direct fulfillment from the supplier to the reseller's end customer, the model reduces the need for multiple warehouses and touchpoints, thereby aiming to lower costs and transaction risks for sellers. The company's global logistics network includes warehouses in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Canada, and Japan.
GigaCloud generates revenue through a hybrid business model. This includes sales of its own first-party (1P) inventory and service fees from third-party (3P) transactions on its marketplace. Additional revenue comes from logistics services like warehousing and last-mile delivery, as well as subscription services for premium features. A significant milestone was its initial public offering on the Nasdaq in August 2022, which raised approximately $41 million. The marketplace initially focused on the furniture sector and has since diversified into categories such as home appliances, fitness equipment, and auto parts. In 2024, the company introduced a "Branding-as-a-Service" (BaaS) program, allowing qualified sellers to market products under established brand names like Christopher Knight Home.
