This investment came from prominent international investors, including the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), ARCH Venture Partners, Polaris Partners, and GV (formerly Google Ventures). In November 2018, GMI was acquired by WuXi NextCODE, a global genomics technology company, for an undisclosed sum, becoming a subsidiary of the firm. This acquisition was part of a larger investment program of up to $400 million aimed at establishing Ireland as a global hub for genomics research. The company was later known as Genuity Science Ireland.
