A significant milestone in the company's history was its acquisition by Intel Corporation in July 2011. The acquisition was a strategic move for Intel to integrate Fulcrum's low-latency switch silicon into its comprehensive data center offerings, combining it with its Xeon processors to address the increasing demands of cloud computing and converged networks.
